If you don't think this is the most iconic moment from Love Actually, you are dead wrong
IF SOMEONE WERE to ask you what the best moment in Love Actually is, what would you say?
Hugh Grant dancing to Jump? Rowan Atkinson wrapping Alan Rickman’s present? The dramatic dash through the airport?
In all cases, you would be wrong.
The ~greatest~ moment in Love Actually is when Mark (Andrew Lincoln), recovering from a tense confrontation with Keira Knightley, zips up his hoodie very dramatically.
Allow us to refresh your memory.
The scene features Mark pacing around outside his flat while Dido’s Here With Me (lol) plays. His best friend’s wife has just discovered that he’s creepily obsessed with her so he’s no doubt grappling with feelings of deep-seeded shame and mortification.
So he does what any self-respecting man would do: he zips up his jumper and goes for a brisk walk.

It’s the most iconic scene in the entire damn movie
And a shining example of how music can elevate a scene
Whoops!

Look how close he is to hurting his neck!!!
*winces*
So much aggression directed at that poor zip!
“F**k this.”

So much angst!
So emphatic!
It’s the perfect moment to try recreate when you’re wallowing in self-pity
Everyone’s conspiring against me! Nothing’s going right for me!
*blares Dido’s No Angel and zips up hoodie over and over again*
Whoops!

Also, can we acknowledge that this is the most noughties item of clothing ever?
A quarterzip jumper with varying shades of brown and khaki and a stupid collar that becomes a turtleneck when you zip it up. Does it get any more early noughties?
In short? Forget Emma Thompson bawling her eyes out to Joni Mitchell. Forget that panicked run through the airport. Forget the nativity lobster.
This right here is the best scene in Love Actually.
I C O N I C.
